I am a runner need advice?

I run in Puma Speed Cats I was using them for a martial arts class and I liked the barefoot feel without being barefooted so I started running in them, anyone else use Speed Cat to run in? If so does running in a flat shoe damage your knees? Mine have been a little sore for a couple of days it may just be over doing it but it coincides with my shoe switch... My speed actually increased but now my knees hurt a little.... Any advice?

Thanks

Unless you run on the balls of your feet like sprinters do, I would recommend shoes with more padding.
Reply:There isn%26#039;t much padding there that can absorb the shock. It depends on what running surface you are on too. When you run try gliding more---let your feet barely leave the ground. That%26#039;s my take.
Reply:You may need another shoe with a bit more support and cushion. You might even experience shin splints which are very painful. When I ran I used to overwork myself and I got those pains in my calves all day. Nike makes some awesome running shoes so does Saucony. Have fun:)
Reply:I would save the Speed Cats for the actual race and go back to your full running shoes to be sure but did you know that even the smallest alignment change in a runner (which your change in shoes could have caused) may cause an ache or pain somewhere because your body gets very used to the way you run. I would also see a doc to make sure that hurt in your knees is not serious...
Reply:Racing short distances is OK in those types of shoes, but you should try running in shoes with some cushion for your training. Read the article below. Best of luck!
